After my mother had a stroke, I reached out to Pam for guidance. She carefully assessed the situation and offered a strategy that would minimize the financial impact while bringing stability to our family as we went through a very challenging time. We would not have made it through without her knowledge on the industry
Pamela McKinley is an absolutely fantastic, thoughtful person with a heartfelt passion for teaching care givers how to provide the best of care for dementia patients. Her knowledge is vast and comes from a lifetime of both professional and personal experience. Her presentation is focused, well-paced and energetic throughout. She will touch many lives.
As an RN for over 35 years, I suddenly found my world in chaos when my strong, independent Mom broke her hip and was diagnosed with dementia. Luckily, I met Pam McKinley, who consulted with me over a 5-year period through all the stages of dementia and quickly helped to stabilize our situation. She consulted with me one on one about treatment plans, insurance, LTC policies and decisions, aides and very strong support for me as the primary caregiver. Her aides were always well trained, professional, honest and compassionate, treating my mom like family. Our journey through Independent Living, Assisted Living, Dementia Care and eventually Hospice was extremely well coordinated because of Pam’s ability to collaborate with us on many different types of agencies and providers. My mom passed away peacefully and I was successful at caring for her because of the support and guidance Pam provided. I strongly recommend her.
The seminar was highly informative and interactive, which profited all of us enormously! I had the opportunity to apply a lot of new knowledge about Dementia to my current job as a caregiver. I was able to make notes in my own informational binder that contain all of the presentation. This handbook will be useful in the future as a source of information.
Pam is an excellent speaker and personally worked with people living with Dementia. Her experience helped to personalize different situations that we discussed during the seminar.
Overall, I am thankful that I had an opportunity to be at this class. Anybody who works with people living with dementia will benefit greatly by attending NCCDP Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar.
I have been a caregiver for more than 15 years. The seminar is a very educational presentation which Pam enriches with her years of experience working with those living with dementia. She is focused and helps define the symptoms so well I know I will be able to apply the learning to my care giving.
